Approach · The work

Uncertainty,
given form.

The work of coaching is to give uncertainty form: to untangle a complex situation, test your thinking and decide how to act.

Clearer judgement. A way forward.

Executive coaching for founders, partners and investment leaders.

A closed paper ball, ready to unfold. The finished matte paper crane.

The framework

Three perspectives.
One space to think.

Every consequential decision happens in three places at once. Pressure shows up in all three. I work in all of them, with space to think at the core.

Within you

Where pressure narrows thinking.

How you think, decide and hold steady under pressure. The feelings, beliefs and experience you bring to a decision - and the patterns that got you here but now get in the way.

Between you

Where trust decides what you hear.

Co-founders, board, investors, partners and team. Whether people tell you the truth, what goes unsaid, and what each relationship needs from you now.

Around you

Where decisions meet the firm.

The structures, roles and process that turn a good decision into a delivered one. Which decisions to own, share or hand over, and where your attention makes the greatest difference.

The value is in how the three connect. My experience in investment leadership and training in psychotherapy help me work with what sits beneath a decision as well as the decision itself. The purpose is clearer judgement, more effective leadership and sustained performance.

How we work

01Set the baseline

We agree the focus, objectives and how progress will be judged. Where useful and agreed, a 360 review or relevant psychometric assessment adds evidence to the starting point.

02Do the work

Regular one-to-one sessions built around the decisions, relationships and responsibilities you actually hold.

03Review what changes

We agree at the start how progress will be judged - in the decisions you make, how you lead and how your team performs - and review it together.

The shape of an engagement

Twelve months, renewable. Real change in how a leader operates takes longer than a quarter. Sessions are in person in London or by video, across time zones.

Your coaching. Your confidence.

Coaching can be arranged directly or sponsored by a venture firm or employer. When it is sponsored, I work for you. Objectives, confidentiality and any reporting are agreed with you before we begin.

Start with a conversation.

Our first conversation explores what is happening, what you want to change and whether coaching is the right fit.
